I’m doing this for several reasons. Right now, I’m at the highest weight I’ve ever been. I’ve been gaining weight rapidly, and it’s been making me feel sad and frustrated. In response, I find myself eating and baking more, stuck in this cycle. I also have a few health concerns that are significantly impacted by my weight. I’ll be turning 27 this year, and I refuse to enter my 30s the way I am now. That doesn’t mean I’m ashamed of my appearance—because I’m not! I just want a healthier, better life for myself. I’m proud of this body that has carried me through life, but now it’s time to honor it by taking care of it as well as it has taken care of me. This is how I start.
